Course objectives

  • Create self-updating reports and graphs using the tools
  • Creating flexible report frameworks to speed up ad-hoc analysis
  • Using the Ranking and Exception function appropriately to improve performance based analysis
  • Manipulating data inside OSA as well asl exporting it
  • Using the Maintain Measures function to create custom measures
  • Using the OSA graphing functionality to create appropriate self-updating graphs

Who should attend

This course is ideal for existing users of Oracle Sales Analyzer wishing to work more efficiently and explore the full functionality of the software for more complex data analysis.

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, delegates should be comfortable using OSA to a basic level.  An understanding of data analysis concepts would be an advantage.

Course content

The focus of this course is on how to use the software effectively and includes:

  • Accessing databases: configuration and Express pathing
  • Creating flexible reports
  • Ranking and Exception reporting
  • Advanced formtting options
  • Report calculations (i.e. sum, percentage variant)
  • Advanced selections (such as 'new products')
  • Using and maintaining saved selections
  • Creating custom measures and aggregates
  • Using Personal Express (optional)
  • Exporting data
  • Graphing
  • Customising your desktop
  • Copying elements between 'personals'
